cheryl pic2 Rev. Cheryl A. Botelho, President/Director

Cheryl has been a Christian since 1979 and has served in various ministry roles for over 30 years.  Her burden to  see the hopeless find hope is the passion that motivates Restoring Hope Ministries both here and in mission projects.  Her ministry philosophy is simple…if you want to tell people about the hope found in Jesus Christ, you do it by  “demonstrating” His Love in practical ways first, then you tell them how He changed your life.  She attends Promise Land Church of God in West Haven, CT and holds her ministry credentials with the Church of God in Cleveland, TN.  She has worked with Teen Challenge in counseling and teaching roles for over 30 years and has completed several leadership and counseling certificates.   Cheryl also has a strong heart for missions and works actively with the “Family Home of Hope” Orphanage in Carrefour, Haiti,  where she  developed a Sponsorship Program to help bring visibility to churches and individuals that can help support the orphanage.

Her favorite verses and quotes:

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.   Isaiah 1:18

“No pit is so deep, that He [God] is not deeper still” ~ Corrie Ten Boom

“If you can’t feed 100, then just feed one.” ~ Mother Theresa

Barbara Casagrande, Vice President

Barbara is a former teacher who worked in both public and Christian schools.  In 1994 she volunteered to help out at the Tinney Community Center in Ansonia, CT and was hired a short time later as the education coordinator for the children’s after school program and the adult parenting and GED programs.  Her favorite memories are of a weekly teen fellowship where they shared a meal, Bible study, and lots of conversation. Eventually their group joined the ministry of Junior Fountain and God’s Generation where many of the teens sang with the recording choir.  She still stays in contact with most of those young people.  In 2010 Barbara joined the Board of RHM and is the Facilitator of our Hope Center, where her education background guides the direction of our Academic programs. Barbara is also the leader of Bridge Ministry, an outreach she began over 10 years ago to bring together God’s people who are separated by race, generation, culture, and denomination.   She is a Deaconess at Living Springs Christian Fellowship in Seymour, CT where she attends.

She will always tell you that the best kind of ministry is to “just love” people.

DOREENDoreen Wilhelmy, Treasurer

Doreen is a business owner and has been a Christian since 1978.  She has a deep passion for meeting the needs of the poor and has been to Haiti, Mozambique, Guatemala,  the Apache Reservation in Arizona and the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia on mission trips.   She brings a solid business foundation to the ministry, as well as the same heartbeat, which is to share the Love of God by “demonstrating” the Love of God. Doreen is also very active with the Family Home of Hope Orphanage in Haiti and oversees the Sponsorship Finances, along with helping to develop it.

Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
